State-level commemorative event will be held in Kurukshetra on November 25

CM also reviews preparations for events on 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and celebration of 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ song

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announced that the 350th Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be observed with great devotion and reverence across the state. Various programmes will be organized from November 1 to November 25 to mark the occasion. A state-level commemorative event will be held in Kurukshetra on November 25.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting today at the Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh to discuss the preparations for these events. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure maximum participation of school students and senior citizens in all the programmes being organized to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, so that people can draw inspiration from his life, sacrifice, and teachings.

The Chief Minister was informed that a mega blood donation camp will be organized in Panchkula on November 1 in the memory of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. On November 3, an essay writing competition for school students on the life and teachings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be organised in Hindi, English, Punjabi, and Sanskrit. Over 3.5 lakh students will take part in this competition. Appointment letters for government jobs will be distributed to families affected by the 1984 riots during this programme.

The Chief Minister was further apprised that on November 8, a special prayer and a commemorative journey dedicated to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be flagged off from Rori (Sirsa). On the same day, a national-level seminar on the lives of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji, and Bhai Jaita Ji will be held at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa.

On November 9, a marathon titled “Hind Di Chadar” will be flagged off in Karnal. The Chief Minister directed that maximum participation of the youth must be ensured in this event. On November 11, another commemorative journey will begin from Marranwala in Pinjore. The journey will begin in Faridabad on November 14, followed by a programme in village Badh Khalsa (Sonipat) dedicated to the life of Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya. On November 18, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone of a national park at Kalesar in Yamunanagar district, which will be named after Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

 As part of the ongoing series of commemorative events, an All Faith Conference will be held in Kurukshetra on November 24. On November 25, a grand state-level programme will take place in Kurukshetra to mark the culmination of the observance of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Day.

The Chief Minister said that community leaders, village sarpanches, saints, religious and social organisations and gurdwara management committees should be actively involved in these programmes, ensuring widespread participation. He emphasized that all events must be organised with utmost devotion, dignity, and respect, keeping in mind the sanctity of the occasion.

Padyatras planned for ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’

 The Chief Minister also reviewed the arrangements for the two-month-long nationwide campaign – ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ being organized to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

As part of the celebrations, district-level padyatras will be organized across Haryana on October 31, 2025, coinciding with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, followed by a 10-day national padyatra — ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’ — from November 26 to December 6, 2025. The Chief Minister directed that swachhata campaigns be also organized before these events at the district, ward and village levels.

 The initiative seeks to inspire people to embrace the ideals of ‘Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat’, echoing Sardar Patel’s vision of a strong and united India.

 Celebration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’

 During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the action plan for celebration of 150 years of of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’, in Haryana.

 Special emphasis will be placed on youth and students to connect them with the values of the freedom struggle through this song. The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the composition of Vande Mataram, and the Government of India will commemorate this milestone through a nationwide celebration from November 2025 onwards. Cultural programmes, exhibitions, seminars, essay competitions, and mass singing of the National Song will be organised in schools and colleges across Haryana.
